Their new Western Australian division opened in 2016 and to help get the business up and running fast, they turned to Aston Advantage.
At the time, the volatile mining industry was in a downturn so to survive, there was an immediate need to diversify their operations. Aston’s expertise in the mining and construction sectors came to the fore.
“I worked with the directors of Ausko to help develop a new sales strategy,” says Aston’s Chantal Haskett. “We targeted the new construction market and as a result, the company won two large projects worth $1.5 million in just 3 months.”
Because of this early success, Ausko needed more staff. Aston quickly recruited an additional team of estimators, contract administrators and document controllers to effectively deliver the projects.
Ausko Director, Trevor Hughes, says “We can now expand or contract depending on the growth of the business and projects we win. This is particularly important for a startup like us because you’re always conscious of the pressures of cash flow and mitigating risk.”
Aston continues to work with Ausko offering advice on business strategy, aligning organisational charts with future plans, and providing HR support.
